Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning which allows children to become independent, resilient, reflective learners that are able to openly communicate and work in a team. Forest School offers children opportunities to achieve, develop their self esteem and evoke a curiosity about the world around them. Children are encouraged to take controlled risks in order to achieve small but rewarding tasks, using their own personal learning style in order to succeed.

Yesterday, Carlton class in Year 2 had their STEM Drop Down Day and they carried out three experiments. They learned about magnets, volcanoes and shadows.
From exploring CO2 explosions in fizzy drinks to shadow puppets and learning about magnets - the STEM day I Chrysler class could not have been more exciting!
Year 2 Cooper class had a fantastic STEM day yesterday. We made shadow puppets using torches, explored magnetic and non-magnetic items and used fizzy drinks and mentos to make a volcano! We then made posters to show our experiments.
